Thanks for choosing our insurance brokerage for your insurance needs. We have over 30 years of experience protecting families with comprehensive automotive, home, commercial, tenant, pleasure craft and landlord insurance.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the application, website, products, and services, including without limitation to apply for, purchase, and make claims under your insurance policy, (“Services”) provided by Insurego Inc. referred to in this document as us, we please read these Terms carefully before using the Services.

References to “you” in these Terms of Service means you, your duly authorized representatives and any entity you may represent in connection with your use of the Services. Any reference made in these Terms of Service to “Insurego” shall be deemed to have been made to Insurego Inc.

We reserve the right, at our discretion, to modify these Terms from time to time.

Credit and Credit Based Information

At Insurego we are committed to protecting your personal information and to getting you the best possible price for your Home, Condominium or Renters Insurance. When we provide you a quote, we will access some of your personal credit based information.

In connection with your request for insurance, we may obtain your credit profile or obtain and use a credit-based insurance score, based on information contained in that report. We will only use your credit profile and information in accordance with Canadian Law and Insurance Industry standard practices. Insurego brokers and employees will not have access to your individual credit information but the information and data contained within the report will help Insurance providers to predict how often you are likely to file claims and how expensive those claims will be. Typical items from a credit report that could affect this profile include, but are not limited to, the following: payment history, number of revolving accounts, number of new accounts, the presence of collection accounts, bankruptcies and foreclosures. The information used to develop the insurance score comes from TransUnion, Equifax and additional consumer reporting sources.

Driver’s Licence and Insurance History

In connection with your request for automobile or motorcycle insurance, Insurego will access your driving records. We will look at Provincial Driver’s Abstracts and Insurance records in order to help determine your eligibility for insurance coverage with our insurance company partners. As a consumer you are able to access the same information that Insurego can access, visit CGI Consumer Reports at We will only use the in accordance with Canadian Law and Insurance Industry standards. We will safeguard any personal information you provide us and only retain such information as long as legally required.

Insurance Quotes and Coverages

All quotes generated by Insurego are based upon the information you provided and are not a contract, binder, or agreement to extend insurance coverage. Any coverage descriptions provided on our website are general descriptions of available coverages and are not a statement of contract. All applications are subject to underwriting approval and are not a contract of insurance until the final contract is issued.

Insurance Claims

If you report an insurance claim, the information you submit regarding your insurance policy and the loss is subject to review and verification. Insurego and our insurer partners reserve the right to request additional information prior to reaching a decision on the claim. An insurance partner claim representative may be communicating with you regarding your claim. All policy provisions contained in your policy remain in effect. If you have any questions concerning the coverage afforded by your policy, please contact an Insurego broker for details of your coverage.

How Insurego Operates

As a full-service insurance brokerage, our role is to provide you with the best insurance value that combines coverage, service, and price. We also provide personalized, quality service that includes professional insurance advice, ongoing policy maintenance and claims support. When any issue arises regarding your insurance coverage, we are your advocate, using our professional experience to best represent your individual interest.

Our disclosure commitments are made in the best interest of consumers. We encourage you to also consult the commitments made by the insurance industry and individual companies by consulting their websites or other available information.

We are here to help protect you with the most comprehensive insurance coverage, and we are committed to providing you coverage at a competitive price.

We operate as an intermediary between you, the insurance customer, and the insurance companies we work with. We offer you the choice to pick between insurance providers and you can ultimately pick based on price or the level of coverage. And even though we offer you the choice, we need to disclose that we are paid a commission by the insurance companies based on your premiums. These commissions vary between insurance companies and the types of policies we offer.

Insurego Commission Disclosure for Personal Lines, Auto, Property and Commercial.

Brokerage compensation is part of your insurance premium. For your benefit, below we have listed the Insurers that we represent and have included the range of compensation provided to our brokerage as a percentage of your overall premium that appears on your invoice. This commission percentage is paid annually for both new business and renewals. Should there be an increase in the commission schedule we receive from your insurer, or, any other material change that affects compensation arrangements, we will notify you.

  • Aviva – 10% to 20%

  • Portage Mutual – 10% to 20%

  • Facility (Royal) – Capped $0 to $250

  • Wawanesa – 12.5% to 20%

  • SGI Canada – 10% to 20%

  • Commission is capped at $250.00

    Insurego Statement on Contingent (Profit) Commission Fees

    In order to maintain strong relationships with quality insurers, we work with each to provide the type of business they desire. The insurers with an asterisk (*) noted above recognize our efforts through a Contingent Commission contract. Payment of this Contingent Commission may depend on a combination of growth, profitability (loss ratio), volume, retention and increased services that we provide on behalf of the Insurer.     Insurego Information on Ownership and Other Financial Links

    Our Brokerage is independent and of the insurers we represent, and we do not have any other financial links that could be considered a conflict of interest, such as:

  • Any direct or indirect ownership interest by an insurer or financial conglomerate

  • Any loan, credit facility or other financial relationship direct or indirect

  • Insurego Statement of Fees

    When you buy an insurance policy through Insurego there's a 3% payment processing fee and 8% tax.

    Fees for cancellation

    You may cancel your insurance at any time however we reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee or penalty of $67, which includes the minimum retained premium from the insurance company.

    If you paid your premiums annually in advance, you are refunded the total amount of the insurance premium you did not use. For example, if you had 7 months remaining on your policy, you would be refunded a pro-rated amount for the 7 months after the cancellation fee is deducted.

    Short-term (monthly) cancellation refund

    If you paid your premiums monthly, your payments will stop but you will be charged the cancellation fee.

    Please do not mess with our website

    Do not misuse our Services. You agree not to use the Service or any aspect or feature thereof for any unlawful purpose or in any way that might harm, damage, or disparage any other party. Without limiting the preceding sentence, you agree that you will: (i) review and comply with these Terms and the Privacy Policy; (ii) comply with all applicable laws, including, without limitation, privacy laws, intellectual property laws, export control laws, tax laws, and regulatory requirements; (iii) provide accurate information to us and update it as necessary; and (iv) act honestly and in good faith.

    By using the Services you agree NOT to: (i) Create an account for anyone other than a natural person (unless you are a company, organization, legal entity or a brand and represent that company, organization, legal entity or brand). (ii) Defame, stalk, bully, abuse, threaten, harass, abuse, intimidate, harm another person or engage in any other predatory behavior, including sending unwelcomed communications to others or engage in any other predatory behavior, or incite others to commit violent acts. (iii) use or attempt to use another's account or create a false identity; (iv) duplicate, license, sublicense, publish, broadcast, transmit, distribute, perform, display, sell, rebrand, or otherwise transfer information found in the Services, except as permitted in these Terms, or as expressly authorized by us; (v) reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, decipher or otherwise attempt to derive the source code for any underlying intellectual property used to provide the Services, or any part thereof; (vi) utilize or copy information, content or any data you view on or obtain from the Services to provide any service that is competitive, in our sole discretion, with the Services; (vii) adapt, modify or create derivative works based on the Services or technology underlying the Services, in whole or part; (viii) rent, lease, loan, trade, sell/re-sell any information in the Services, in whole or part; (ix) use the communication systems provided by the Services for any commercial solicitation purposes; (x) sell, sponsor, or otherwise monetize any service or functionality in the Services, without our express written consent; (xi) remove any copyright, trademark or other proprietary rights notices contained in or on the Services (whether ours or our licensors'); (xii) remove, cover or otherwise obscure any form of advertisement included on the Services; (xiii) collect, harvest, use, copy, or transfer any information, including, but not limited to, personally identifiable information obtained from the Services (excluding your User Content, and except if the owner of such information has expressly permitted the same); (xiv) share other users' or third party's information or their User Content without their express consent; (xv) infringe or use our brand, logos or trademarks in any business name, email, or URL except as expressly permitted by us; (xvi) use or launch any manual or automated system or software, devices, scripts robots, other means or processes to access, “scrape,” “crawl”, "cache", “spider” or any web page or other service contained in our Services, or to access the Services in a manner that sends more request messages to our servers in a given period of time than a human can reasonably produce in the same period by using a conventional on-line web browser; (xvii) use bots or other automated methods to access the Services, add or download contacts, send or redirect messages, or perform other similar activities through the Services; (xviii) access, via automated or manual means or processes, the Services for purposes of monitoring its availability, performance or functionality for any competitive purpose; (xix) engage in “framing,” “mirroring,” or otherwise simulating the appearance or function of the website; (xx) attempt to or actually access the Services by any means other than through the interfaces provided by us. This prohibition includes accessing or attempting to access the Services using any third-party service, including software-as-a-service platforms that aggregate access to multiple services; (xxii) engage in any action that directly or indirectly interferes with the proper working of or places an unreasonable load on the Services' infrastructure, including, but not limited to, sending unsolicited communications to other users or our personnel, attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Services, or transmitting or activating computer viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time bombs or any other harmful or deleterious software programs through or on the Services; and/or (xxiii) Interfere or disrupt or game the Services, including, but not limited to any servers or networks connected to the Services, or the underlying software.

    Insurego use of Insurance Records

    Insurego will in accordance with Insurance Industry practice gather information about your home in order to provide you an accurate insurance quote. This information includes but not limited to the age of the dwelling, year built, construction type, square footage, utility services, history of past claims both provided by you and provided by data searches via OPTA Information Intelligence and SCM.

    For you car insurance quotes Insurego will in accordance with Insurance Industry Practice gather information about your experience as an operator and or owner of a motor vehicle. This information includes but is not limited to driving record, vehicle registration and ownership, number of years licenced, class of licence, history of automobile accidents and claims, history of convictions. Insurego will as necessary also provide information about insurance coverage to interested parties where applicable, such as leasing and finance companies. We will access Driving Record and Insurance History reports provided by CGI (MVR and Autoplus) and disclosures from you about your driving and licence experience.


    We reserve the right to access, read, preserve, and disclose any information as we reasonably believe is necessary to: (i) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process, subpoena or governmental request; (ii) enforce these Terms, including investigation of potential violations of it; (iii) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues; (iv) cooperate with law enforcement authorities; (v) respond to user support requests; or (vi) protect our, our users' or the public's rights, property or safety.

    Electronic Communication

    At Insurego we are striving to lower our overall carbon footprint and aspire to be a completely paperless business. By continuing on this site, completing a quote or binding or buying insurance coverage, you agree to have all records, including the insurance policy, provided to you in electronic form. This consent, unless withdrawn, applies to all transactions between you and Insurego. However, you have the right to receive communications from us, including the insurance policy, in paper form if you wish by withdrawing this consent. If you withdraw the consent to provide you with records in electronic form, you will then be provided with records in paper form. To withdraw your consent, you must email us at with the following subject line “PLEASE SEND ME PAPER” The body of the email must include your name, policy number, the effective date that you want paper copies to be sent to you. Once we have received the email we will send you paper copies of policy documents.

    Additionally, Insurego will from time to time send you emails to keep you informed about products, services, promotions and contests. We are committed to protecting our flock and will not provide your contact information to any other organization unless it is necessary to provide you a quote or an insurance policy. In all of our email communications, you will have the option to opt-out of email.
